Sally Gets New Boots
We are taking it easy here in Ten Sleep, enjoying good food and friendly folks and being able to be free of the horses for a little while. The R.V. park is like a small town really I think it has more people here then the town. The horses are enjoying the break just eating good hey and water when they want it. The kids found our horses.
Mustang Sally got her first ever set of shoes today. She was a real champ ... no sedation needed 👍. Thank you to Farrier Conar Benson from Ten Sleep, first for agreeing to meet us at our camp site on a Sunday, and second for giving Sally an awesome first go at shoes. Sally really responded to his patient, kind and gentle approach.
Many who know me know not a big fan of shoes. With that said the boots did fine in the back country but for the roads we had no choice. Even with the iron on their feet they still got some stone brushing. When you are riding the miles we are you have to do what is best for your horse no matter what.
The horses all get manicures ... when is it mommy’s turn? 😳
